From creams and lotions to massages, women have been trying to find quick cures for cellulite for ages. The unsightly, bubbly looking fat that tends to creep up on the thighs, butts and stomachs of women never seems to budge. Even relatively thin women can fall victim to cellulite. Unfortunately, there is no tried and true quick fix for this annoying fat. The best way to minimize cellulite is with good old-fashioned diet and exercise.
Hydrate
Drink at least eight glasses of water every day. Do you really adhere to this rule? Water might be the most powerful tool for avoiding illness, staying slim, getting glowing skin and keeping your energy up. It has so many advantages, and it is (mostly) free. Even more, it can help minimize and prevent cellulite. Water helps the body by flushing out all those excess toxins, including the ones in fat cells. Fill up on the clear stuff to help your body fight fat.
Food Choices
Pick the right foods to eliminate fat. Diet is extremely important in the prevention and diminishing of cellulite. Junk foods that contain toxins and high amounts of fat, calories and sodium can really wreck your body. Besides getting your fill of fruits, vegetables and lean protein, make sure that you are getting enough dietary fiber. Dietary fiber helps to flush the toxins out of your digestive tract, making you retain less water. This will help alleviate bloating that can make cellulite look even worse.
Vitamins
Supplement your diet with vitamins. Try as you might, not everyone gets enough vitamins from their daily meals. In order to supplement the vitamins that your body is missing out on, add a daily multivitamin to your diet plan. Women should also take a calcium supplement. It will not only support bone health, but will help fight fat too. Other vitamins and minerals such as potassium, iodine, lycopene, magnesium, selenium and vitamins B, C and E can have a variety of health benefits. They do things like fight fluid retention, detoxify and improve the skin. These will all help fight cellulite.
Cardio
Make sure you add exercise along with your diet. Nothing trims the fat like cardiovascular exercise. Any kind of exercise that gets your heart pumping and keeps it pumping for at least 20 minutes will burn calories. Burning calories equals burning fat. Aim to get at least 20 minutes per day every day. The basic equation for fat loss is that the calories you take in need to be less than the calories you expend through daily activity and exercise.
Strength Training
Work your muscles to really boost the fat-burning power of cardiovascular exercise. When your muscles are toned and strong, they burn more calories throughout the day. Pumping the weights also increases blood circulation to all areas of your body, including those that are prone to cellulite.
