Start Totaling Up Those Fat Grams and Calories
To lose that 10, 20, or 30 pounds in a month then you need to start counting calories and fat. If you are taking in high amounts of bad fats in your diet this can be sabotaging your weight loss efforts. Bad fats include fast food that is high in saturated fat and snacks and treats high in sugar. So you know, sugar turns to fat. So the more amounts you eat of foods with high amounts of food the more likely you are to gain weight. Try to set a calorie and fat range for the each day and stick to it. If you want to lose weight then you will want to cut out 500 calories each day then it set for your age and weight. 2Choosing Low-Fat/Fat Free Foods That Work For You
There are hundreds of low fat and fat free foods on the market today. But beware many are high in calories. Read the labels and make sure that what you are choosing for your diet is not high in calories even if it says fat free. Some products will say fat free and one serving could be one cookie which is 100 calories. Do not waste your calories for the day so make sure you pick foods that will make you feel full and that will give you larger amounts for a lower number of calories. Foods such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, reduced fat milks and cheeses, and lean meats such as chicken and turkey are your best bets. It is okay to give yourself an occasional treat though but just don't overdo it. Cut out diet drinks and switch to drinking water. There are tons of flavorings you can buy that will make the water taste great and will only add 5 calories a serving. That way you are getting the water intake you need.
3Don't Get Discouraged
You might not drop the weight off as fast as you may like in the beginning but stick to it. It will take time to get in a routine of eating healthy and sticking to your new low-fat/fat free diet. And depending on your body and age sometimes the weight does not drop off as quickly as we would like. This is because as we age our metabolism starts to slow. So keep with your new diet and keep a log of your progress. And always reward yourself for meeting your goals!
