How to Juice Using a Blender

How to Juice Using a Blender

Owning and using a juicer provides the ability to extract the liquid juices from the pulp of fruits and vegetables. Separating the juice from the fiber this way provides a healthy beverage that the body can easily absorb and utilize. A blender operates differently from a juicer because it purees foods without separating the fiber from the juice. While some people enjoy using a juicer to extract the juice and then adding the juice to the blender along with other ingredients to make smoothies, you can also make real juice with a blender. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

    1

Place the fruits and vegetables into the colander to wash them under cool water. Slice, skin and core the vegetables on the cutting board with the paring knife.

    2

Add the fruits and vegetables to the blender as you prepare them. Add a small amount of water to the blender to help the fruits and vegetables puree quicker.

    3

Turn the blender on and process fruits and vegetables thoroughly.

    4

Cover the top of the small bowl with the cheesecloth and slowly pour the pureed fruits and vegetables from the blender onto the cheesecloth into the bowl. Use the spatula to scrape the inside of the blender clean.

    5

Allow the liquid juice to drip through the cheesecloth while the pulp remains on top of the cheesecloth.

    6

Gather up the corners of the cheesecloth to enclose the pulp within the cheesecloth. Gently squeeze the pulp through the cheesecloth to extract as much juice as possible into the bowl. Continue squeezing until no more juice drips out from the cheesecloth. Discard the pulp.

    7

Pour the contents of the bowl into the glass and serve the juice immediately.
